The freedom we enjoy as a nation, rest on the shoulders of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. In 1868, the Commander in Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, Major General John A. Logan, issued General Order No. 11, which called for a national day of rememberance for Civil War dead. This order served as the basis for what has become our Memorial Day Celebration.

We, at Berggren Architects, encourage you to honor all those who have given their lives securing our freedoms since the Civil War to, and including, our more recent conflicts.

We have included a reproduction of General Logan’s General Order No. 11
