CAP Assessment

Bryant House Museum

In 2018, Berggren Architects, along with a professional conservator, performed a CAP Assessment (Collections Assessment for Preservation) for the Bryant House in Tekamah, Nebraska. The Historic Bryant House was built in 1890 and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. As a historic house museum, the Bryant House is somewhat unique in that the vast majority of the 50,000 – 75,000 artifacts in the home are original to the house. The Historic Bryant House also owns the bungalow house next door, built in 1925 which is now used as office, meeting, and storage space. Since becoming a museum, the house has been decorated to reflect life from the original 1890 period. Berggren Architects created a list of short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals to help the buildings perform better for the public and as a curatorial space.
