The Strategy

When creating the Architectural Program Statement, we had to understand the art of the program and the Harry Jackson Institute Core Values. The Harry Jackson Institute is dedicated to preservation, interpretation, and sharing of the art and archives of Harry Jackson to an audience through educational programs, scholarly research, exhibitions and other outreach activities.

Understanding the Core Values of the Institute, we were able to complete a list of 16 priorities including collection storage, staff space, gallery, main entry lobby, gift shop, receiving area, exhibits preparation room, library, lounge area, presentation area, collections management space, private offices, facility management office, outdoor display, re-created Harry studio, and a bronze casting studio. Another part of the program was to implement the spirit of Harry Jackson which broke down into 6 parts.

The Results

The Architectural Program Statement was successful and what the Harry Jackson Institute needed for their vision of the future. Funding is not yet available to fulfill that vision.

In the meantime, they are accomplishing their Core Values by sharing much of their collection with other art museums across the county. We hope that one day those funds will be available to create a permanent home for this magnificent collection.
