Additional Info

Since 1986, Berggren Architects has been providing services for the Jefferson County Courthouse. Starting with a Master Plan for phased masonry construction, Berggren Architects has completed a variety of projects for Jefferson County. Masonry restoration proceeded incrementally until 1991 when the emphasis moved to ADA Compliance. Following that was the installation of an elevator and ADA accessible restroom. We constructed the Health and Human Services office in the basement space that previously housed the old jail. We have restored all of the stone entry staircase; two years later, we remodeled the District Courtroom while building an equipment storage facility on the Northwest corner.

Berggren Architects have returned to the exterior of the building and masonry restoration. In 2004, we helped them by coordinating tuckpointing in deteriorating locations. Three years later we embarked on stone veneer replacement of the entire courthouse tower. Most recently, Berggren Architects was called upon to re-roof the entire courthouse after significant hail damage. New gutters were also installed as part of this last project.
